CoralBay Intelligence

Helping reefers discover what is available across UK reef shops

The UK has a wide range of marine aquarium shops, each with its own selection of livestock, equipment and supplies. But finding something specific can mean visiting dozens of websites, repeating the same searches and checking back regularly for new stock.

We created CoralBay Intelligence to make that easier.

It is the product-discovery tool behind UK Reef Market, bringing together listings from UK marine retailers so you can explore more of what is available in one place.

Why we built it

As reefers, we know that finding the right coral, fish, marine livestock can take time. Sometimes you know exactly what you want. Other times, you simply want to see what has arrived, discover a shop you haven’t visited before or spot something unusual.

With products spread across so many separate websites, it is easy to miss something—even when a retailer already has exactly what you are looking for.

CoralBay Intelligence grew out of a simple idea: make available products easier to discover and connect reefers with the shops selling them.

Focused on products you can actually buy

UK Reef Market aims to show only products that are currently available from UK reefing retailers. We have put a lot of work into recognising stock availability and filtering out unavailable items. A catalogue full of products you cannot buy would not be particularly helpful.

If a product appears on UK Reef Market, it means our latest check identified it as available. We do not intentionally include out-of-stock products.

Stock can change between our checks, though—particularly with individual corals or limited livestock. Something shown on CoralBay may have sold out at the retailer since our last update, and automated checks can occasionally get availability wrong. Always confirm stock on the retailer’s website before ordering.

If you notice an unavailable product still appearing, please give us a nudge. Your feedback helps us correct listings and improve how we recognise availability.

How it helps reefers

UK Reef Market gives you a starting point for exploring livestock and products across the retailers we cover. You can browse, search for something specific, check new listings and see recorded price changes without opening every shop’s website individually.

If you are waiting for something particular, CoralBay’s Notify me feature can also help. Set up an alert through My Account → Buy Sell → Notify me, and let CoralBay look out for matching listings.

When something catches your eye, follow the product link to the retailer’s own website. That is where you can read the full description, confirm availability, check delivery or collection options and make your purchase.

It is also a way to discover shops you might not otherwise have found—and see more of the variety available within the UK reefing hobby.

How it helps shops

A product can only sell if the right customer finds it. CoralBay Intelligence gives retailers another opportunity to reach people who are already interested in marine aquariums.

For smaller or less familiar shops, that can mean being discovered by reefers who might otherwise never have come across them. For established retailers, it provides another way for their stock and new arrivals to be seen.

Interested customers are directed to the original retailer. The shop handles the sale, answers product questions and builds its relationship with the customer.

Our aim is to support the variety of UK reef retailers and make more of their available stock visible to the hobbyists looking for it.

What does the bot actually do?

“Bot” simply means an automated tool. CoralBay Intelligence visits publicly available shop pages and gathers basic product information, such as names, images, prices, availability and links.

It checks for updates periodically and uses that information to help keep UK Reef Market useful. It does not sign into customer accounts, access private customer information or place orders.

UK Reef Market is therefore a regularly updated guide rather than a live stock feed. Prices and product details can change between updates; the retailer’s own website is where you should confirm the latest information, delivery options and purchase terms.

Help us make it better

Your input is a very important part of improving CoralBay Intelligence.

Retailer websites vary, stock changes quickly and automated tools do not always get everything right. If you notice an incorrect price, a broken link, a missing image, an unsuitable listing or a product we seem to have missed, we would really appreciate you letting us know.

You are also welcome to suggest a UK marine retailer you think we should include. We cannot promise that every website or product can be added, but your suggestions help us understand what would be useful to the community.

Email support@coralbay.uk, ideally with a link to the relevant shop or product and a brief explanation. A screenshot can help too. You do not need to investigate the problem yourself—just pointing us towards it is useful.

Information for shop owners

If your shop is listed and something needs correcting, please get in touch. We welcome your help in making sure your business and products are represented accurately.

You can also contact us to discuss inclusion, request the removal of particular listings or ask for your website to be excluded.

CoralBay Intelligence is here to make discovery easier for reefers and bring interested customers to shops. Feedback from both sides helps us make it better.
