Referral Competition — Terms & Conditions

1. About the Competition

The CoralBay UK Referral Competition is a free promotional competition designed to encourage existing CoralBay members to introduce genuine new members to the UK marine aquarium community.

There are two separate cash prizes:

• £50 Top Referrer Prize — awarded to the eligible participant who introduces the greatest number of successfully validated new members.
• £50 Weighted Prize Draw — awarded through a random draw in which each qualifying ticket provides one chance of winning.

Participation is completely free. No purchase, payment or paid subscription is necessary.

2. Competition Dates

Opening: Monday 26 October 2026 at 22:00 GMT.

Closing: Monday 14 November 2026 at 22:00 GMT.

Only qualifying new registrations made during this period are attributed to this competition.

After closing, a four-day validation period allows eligibility checks to be completed. Results will be finalised no earlier than 13 November 2026 at 22:00 GMT, following any necessary review.

Closing dates and published rules will not normally be changed once the competition has begun. Any exceptional change will be made only where justified by circumstances and applicable promotional rules.

3. Who Can Participate?

Participation is open to individuals who:

• Are aged 18 or over.
• Are resident in the United Kingdom.
• Have a genuine CoralBay UK member account.
• Comply with these Terms & Conditions.
• Are not the promoter, an individual administering the competition, or an immediate family or household member of such an individual.

Each individual may participate using one genuine personal account. Creating additional accounts to generate referrals or tickets is prohibited.

The promoter may request reasonable evidence of eligibility before awarding a prize.

4. How to Refer New Members

1. Sign in to your CoralBay UK account.
2. Visit the Referrals page .
3. Copy your personal referral link.
4. Share it with fellow UK marine aquarium enthusiasts.
5. When a genuinely new member registers through your link and satisfies the validation requirements, a qualifying referral is credited to your account.

Referral Tracking

The referral link uses a tracking code stored in the visitor's browser, normally for up to 30 days.

The new member must register while the referral attribution remains available and during an eligible competition period. Clearing browser cookies, changing browsers or using another device may prevent automatic attribution.

A new member may only be credited to one referrer. Existing members cannot register again to generate a referral.

If a genuine referral is not recorded correctly, the member may contact CoralBay for review. Corrections are subject to reasonable evidence and administrator approval.

5. Referral Validation Requirements

Registering a new account does not automatically make a referral eligible for prizes.

A referred member must satisfy all the following requirements:

• Register as a genuinely new CoralBay member using an eligible referral.
• Successfully verify their email address.
• Have an account at least 3 days old.
• Actively use CoralBay while signed in on at least 2 separate calendar days.
• Pass any necessary duplicate-account and fraudulent-registration checks.

Authenticated activity days are counted separately. Multiple visits on the same day count as one active day. Remaining signed in does not require the user to log out and log back in.

Qualification requirements may be completed during the four-day post-competition validation period, where permitted by the competition rules.

6. Bonus Tickets for Genuine Listings

Participants can earn additional weighted-draw tickets when someone they have referred begins selling eligible items on CoralBay.

Eligible Listings

To qualify, a listing must:

• Be created by the referred member in Community Corals or Marine Marketplace.
• Be created during the competition period.
• Offer an eligible Protected Purchases payment option.
• Be a genuine listing for an item the seller is entitled to sell.
• Reach a minimum age of 3 days and satisfy the listing eligibility requirements at competition closing.

Listings That Do Not Qualify

• Retailer products imported or drafted from UK Reef Market.
• Collection-only listings without Protected Purchases.
• Duplicate, fabricated or misleading listings.
• Listings deleted before satisfying the qualification requirements.
• Listings created outside the competition period.

Listings that qualify at competition closing retain their bonus eligibility if subsequently removed.

A genuine completed sale through Protected Purchases may also qualify under the platform's confirmed-sale rules, subject to verification.

Simply creating several listings, unpublishing and republishing an item, or converting a listing into an auction does not generate repeated bonuses.

7. How the Winners Are Selected

£50 Top Referrer Prize

The eligible participant with the greatest number of successfully validated new-member referrals wins the Top Referrer Prize.

Bonus tickets earned through listings do not affect this ranking.

If multiple eligible members share the highest referral count, the Top Referrer winner is selected randomly from those tied for first.

£50 Weighted Prize Draw

Eligible draw tickets are combined into one prize-draw pool.

Each ticket has an equal chance of selection, and the winner is chosen using a computer-generated random selection process.

Members with more qualifying tickets have proportionately greater chances of winning.

The Top Referrer winner remains eligible for the weighted draw. A participant may therefore win both £50 prizes.

Draw results are finalised after the validation period and necessary eligibility reviews have been completed.

8. Prizes and Payment

Two cash prizes will be awarded, subject to there being eligible entries:

• One £50 Top Referrer cash prize.
• One £50 Weighted Prize Draw cash prize.

Cash prizes will be paid in pounds sterling using a suitable UK payment method agreed with the winner.

Winners will not be required to pay an entry fee, administration charge or purchase anything to claim a prize.

Prize payments will normally be completed within 30 days of winner confirmation and receipt of the information reasonably necessary to make payment.

9. Winner Notification and Claims

Winners will be contacted using the contact details associated with their CoralBay accounts, normally by email or private CoralBay notification, within seven days of the draw.

Winners must respond within 14 days of the initial notification and provide the information reasonably required to confirm eligibility and deliver the prize.

If a winner cannot be contacted, declines the prize, or fails to respond within the claim period despite reasonable attempts to contact them, the promoter may select an alternative eligible winner using the applicable selection method.

Competition winners may also be displayed on the CoralBay Referrals page.

To demonstrate that prizes were genuinely awarded, CoralBay may publish or make available limited winner information in accordance with applicable promotional rules. Winners may object to publication or request that the amount of information disclosed be reduced.

10. Fair Participation and Abuse Prevention

CoralBay UK is committed to running referral competitions fairly for genuine members of the community.

The following conduct is prohibited:

• Creating or controlling multiple accounts to generate referrals.
• Referring yourself through another account or email address.
• Using false, misleading, temporary or impersonated account information.
• Creating fabricated listings solely to obtain additional tickets.
• Manipulating referral attribution or attempting to interfere with competition systems.
• Misleading people about CoralBay or pressuring them to register.

CoralBay may investigate suspicious entries, request reasonable supporting information, withhold disputed tickets during review or disqualify entries where there is sufficient evidence of a breach of these rules.

Members may contact CoralBay to request a review of a disputed referral or qualification decision.

Genuine users will not be disqualified solely because they share an internet connection, household or device with another individual.

11. Leaderboard and Results

The public leaderboard displays qualifying referral totals and weighted-draw tickets.

Figures may change while registrations are verified, listing requirements are completed and suspected abuse is reviewed.

Leaderboard positions and estimated winning probabilities are provisional until the competition has been finalised.

Once finalised, the competition's confirmed results are recorded and the winners are announced.

12. Privacy and Personal Information

CoralBay processes account and referral information where necessary to administer this competition, verify eligibility, prevent abuse, select winners and deliver prizes.

Information may include account identifiers, referral associations, registration and verification status, qualifying activity dates, listing eligibility and relevant administrative decisions.

Public leaderboards will not display participants' email addresses or private contact information.

Prize payment details will be requested privately when necessary and will not be published.

Competition information will be handled in accordance with CoralBay's applicable privacy notice and UK data protection law.

13. Administration and General Conditions

CoralBay UK will administer the competition in good faith and take reasonable steps to ensure that the published rules are applied consistently.

In exceptional circumstances involving serious technical problems, fraud or events outside the promoter's reasonable control, appropriate corrective action may be taken, subject to applicable law and the rights of participants.

Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

This competition is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by Facebook, Instagram or any other social media platform.

These terms are governed by the applicable laws of the United Kingdom.
